The Xiaomi 12 smartphone that was launched last year was the most compact smartphone introduced by the company in recent years. However, a new leak from Weibo apparently suggests that the company will be launching an even smaller device known as the Xiaomi 12 Mini.
To substantiate his claim, the Weibo microblogger had also published what seems to be the rendering of the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Mini, though it’s authenticity is yet to be confirmed. Nonetheless, if the render is indeed accurate, then we can expect the Xiaomi 12 Mini to sport a largely different rear design from the rest of the Xiaomi 12 series smartphones.
More specifically, the Xiaomi 12 Mini appears to ditch the rectangular camera bump that we saw among the Xiaomi 12 series smartphones for a more refined, vertically-stacked triple-camera system. The hardware specifications of the phone however, wasn’t revealed at the moment.
Considering that the Xiaomi 12 and 12X smartphones currently features a 6.28” display, we wouldn’t be surprised if Xiaomi 12 Mini eventually comes with an even smaller front display that sits below the 6” mark just like the ASUS Zenfone 8 (Review) and iPhone 12 Mini.
