After launching the Realme 9 Pro series smartphones last month, Realme is now back to the smartphone scene with the launch of the new Realme 9 SE (aka Realme 9 Speed Edition) in the Indian market.
This is in fact the first ”SE” model within Realme’s numerical series which shapes up to be a pretty enticing mid-range model with great specs and attractive pricing.
Starting with the front, the Realme 9 SE builds around a 6.6” IPS LCD display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution along with a super smooth 144Hz refresh rate and a responsive 240Hz touch sampling rate. On top of that, there’s also 600 nits worth of peak brightness to keep it’s screen visible when using the phone in a bright environment.
On the rear side, it sports a rectangular camera island which is home to a triple-cam system that includes a 48 megapixels main camera, as well as a pair of 2 megapixels cameras for macro and depth information. As for selfie, there’s also a 16 megapixels front-facing camera to take up the task.
Under the hood, the Realme 9 SE is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 778G chipset which actually offers better performance than the ”Pro” model despite costing less. This will be paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage which supports further expansion via a microSD card.
To keep it’s lights on, the Realme 9 SE is backed by a huge 5,000mAh battery which carries support for 30W fast-charging. On the software-side, the phone will be shipped with Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 OS out of the box.
For those who’re interested, the Realme 9 SE is available in both Starry Glow and Azure Glow color options, and will be priced at INR19,999 (US$262) and INR22,999 (US$300) respectively for it’s 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB variants.
