Honor has officially announced a new mid-range tablet in the Chinese market known as the Honor Pad 8. This model comes as a successor to the Honor Pad 7 which was unveiled back in March this year.
The latest model builds around a 12” IPS LCD display which offers plenty of screen estate for both work and play. It supports a 2,000 x 1,200 pixels screen resolution and features a peak brightness of up to 350 nits.
Imaging on the Honor Pad 8 is handled by a 5 megapixels rear snapper, while selfies and video conferencing will be taken care by a 5 megapixels front-facing camera which sits along the upper bezel (when the slate is held horizontally).
Under the hood, the Honor Pad 8 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 680 chipset which will be paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card. Other than that, it also features a total of eight speakers backed by Honor’s Histen audio technology.
To keep it’s lights on, the slate is backed by a respectable 7,250mAh battery with 22.5W fast-charging support. Software-wise, it’ll be shipped with the latest Magic UI 6.1 out of the box.
Those who’re interested can pick the slate from three different colorways such as gold, blue, and green. It’ll be priced starting from 1,499 Yuan ($308) for it’s 4GB+128GB base model and goes up to 1,999 Yuan ($411) for the top-of-the-line model featuring 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage.
