POCO is reportedly working on the POCO M5 series of smartphones. A new report by 91mobiles states that the company may launch the POCO M5 4G as early as September in India. The report has also revealed the key details about the smartphone.
According to the publication, the POCO M5 4G will be equipped with the Helio G99 chipset. It claims that the device will break cover in the early weeks of September. The publication has learnt through industry sources that the device will arrive with a price tag of less than Rs 15,000 in India. At present, it is unclear which other markets will be receiving the POCO M5 4G.
The report further claims that the device could be equipped with a 6.58-inch screen that will offer a Full HD+ resolution. It looks like the device will still have an LCD screen, just like its predecessor.
The Helio G99 chipset-powered device may offer up to 6 GB of RAM. It will probably offer up to 128 GB of storage. The device may come equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, which will carry support for 33W fast charging. The report states that it will sport a “chic-leather-like” back design.
The device will come equipped with the Android 12 OS. For security, it may feature a side-facing fingerprint scanner. On the connectivity front, the device may offer features like dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
There is a possibility that the company may also launch a 5G edition of the device. At present, there is no word on its specifications.
