Xiaomi has officially announced a new entry-level smartphone dubbed as the Redmi 12C that comes with an affordable launch price of just 699 Yuan ($101) in the Chinese market.
The new Redmi 12C builds around a 6.71” IPS LCD display featuring a HD+ screen resolution along with 60Hz refresh rate. To help with selfies and video calls, the phone also has a 5 megapixels front-facing camera that sits within a waterdrop-notch.
Over on the rear side, the phone features a square-shaped camera module which houses a single 50 megapixels camera. Speaking of the back, it’s offered in four different paintjobs such as Blue, Black, Green and Purple.
Under the hood, the Redmi 12C is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 chipset which will be paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage which supports further expansion via a microSD card.
Keeping it’s lights on is a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 10W wired charging support. As far as software is concerned, the Redmi 12C will boot on MIUI 13 based on Android 11 out of the box.
Pricing for the Redmi 12C starts from 699 Yuan ($101) for the 4GB+64GB base model and goes up to 899 Yuan ($130) for the higher-end model with 6GB+128GB configuration.
