After more than a year of waiting, Huawei has finally announced it’s next-generation’s P60 Pro flagship which will be succeeding the 2021’s P50 Pro (Review). The new model arrives with a brand new design language along with substantiate upgrade to it’s hardware specs, especially in the imaging department.
Speaking of imaging, the new Huawei P60 Pro features a triple-cam system which is now lead by a 48 megapixels main camera which utilizes a RYYB sensor with OIS stabilization as well as an impressive ten-speed variable aperture to improve light intake.
This will be accompanied by a 13 megapixels ultra-wide for landscape photography and a 48 megapixels ”night vision” telephoto camera with a bright f/2.1 aperture which supports 3.5x optical zoom and up to 200x digital zoom. Also, the telephoto unit is touted to be the first in the industry to adopt a ”super-concentrating multi-lens telephoto module”.
Under the hood, the Huawei P60 Pro is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4G chipset which will be paired up with an option between 256GB or 512GB onboard storage that supports further expansion via Huawei’s proprietary NM card (not microSD).
Although the phone doesn’t supports 5G connectivity, but it comes with a new ”two-way satellite messaging” feature which allows user to send and receive text messages even with there’s no mobile signal. This feature however, is exclusive only to the Chinese market at the moment.
Over on the front side, the P60 Pro features a 6.67” LTPO OLED display that offers a sharp QHD screen resolution along with a fast 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Just like last year’s P50 Pro, it’s a dual-curve panel with a centered punch-hole cutout which houses a 13MP selfie cam.
To keep it’s lights on, the Huawei P60 Pro is also backed by a respectable 4,815mAh battery which carries support for 88W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging. As usual, it’ll also ships with the latest HarmonyOS 3.1 right off the box.
Those who’re interested can pick the phone from four different color options such as Feather Purple, Feather Black, Emerald Emerald as well as Rococo White. Pricing for the P60 Pro starts from just 6,988 Yuan ($1,023) for the 256GB trim and goes up to 7,988 Yuan ($1,170) for the 512GB model.
