Save the date: POCO F5 series is launching on May 9

After months of leaks and rumours, POCO has finally released an official confirmation of the launch date of the POCO F5 series. The brand confirmed that the POCO F5 and the POCO F5 Pro will be announced at 20:00 GMT+8 in May for the global market.

The Indian wing of the brand confirmed that it will also announce the POCO F5 in the Indian market at the same time. Reports have revealed that the POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro are rebranded versions of the Redmi K60 and Redmi Note 12 Turbo smartphones that are exclusively available in the Chinese market. Here is a look at the expected specifications of both smartphones.

The POCO F5 and F5 Pro will come equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED panel that delivers an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The F5 will have a side-facing fingerprint scanner, while the Pro model will have an under-display fingerprint sensor. Both phones will run on Android 13 OS and MIUI 14.

The F5 and F5 Pro will arrive with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The back panel of both smartphones will feature an OIS-enabled 64-megapixel primary camera. The main camera will be coupled with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

The POCO F5 and F5 Pro will pack a 5,500mAh battery. Both phones will support 67W fast charging, but the Pro model will also offer 30W wireless charging. Both phones are expected to arrive in 8 GB and 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM variants. Both variants are expected to offer 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The POCO F5 will have the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 chipset onboard, whereas the POCO F5 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
