Motorola has officially unveiled the new Edge+ (2023) flagship in the U.S. market which carries an attractive launch price of just $799. Despite being launched under a new moniker, this device shares largely similar specs and design as the Edge 40 Pro which was launched in the global market last month.
The new Motorola Edge 40+ builds around a 6.67” AMOLED display boasting a FHD+ screen resolution, fast 165Hz refresh rate along with HDR10+ support. To help with selfies and video calls, it also features an impressive 60 megapixels front-facing camera that sits within a centered punch-hole cutout.
Over at the back, the phone comes with a trio of cameras lead by a flagship 50 megapixels main camera featuring a large 1/1.55” sensor size with OIS stabilization. This will be joined by another 50MP ultra-wide unit which doubles up as a macro camera as well as a 12 megapixels portrait camera with 2x optical zoom.
Under the hood, the Edge 40+ is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset which will pair up with 8GB RAM as well as an option between 256GB or 512GB onboard storage. Keeping it’s lights on is a respectable 5,100mAh battery with 68W fast wired charging support.
As far as software is concerned, the Motorola Edge 40+ will be shipped with Android 13 OS out of the box. For those who’re interested, the Edge 40+ is available in a single Interstellar Black colorway and is priced starting from $799 for the 8GB+256GB trim.
