Today, OnePlus held an event in China to showcase the camera capabilities of the OnePlus 12. The brand has been claiming that the smartphone will offer a top-notch photography experience that can even outperform other phones in its price segment. However, it is only today that the brand has confirmed details about the primary and periscope telephoto cameras of the OP12.
The brand confirmed that the OnePlus 12 will be equipped with the LYT-T808 primary camera sensor, which was co-developed by OnePlus and Sony. It is said that its photography strength is second only to the most powerful Sony IMX989, 1-inch camera sensor. For those who don’t know, the Find N3 / OnePlus Open foldable phone is also equipped with the same camera.
It is said to be a 50-megapixel unit with a 1/1.4-inch camera sensor size, equipped with double-layer transistor pixel technology. The company did not share any information about the ultra-wide lens of the device. However, rumors surrounding it claim that it will be equipped with a 48-megapixel IMX581 ultra-wide lens.
The company also confirmed that the OnePlus 12 will come equipped with a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, which will support 3x optical zoom. It will have an f/2.6 aperture, a 70mm focal length, and support optical image stabilization. It features the OmniVision OV64B camera sensor, which is also available on the Find N3 / Open.
The OnePlus 12 will also come equipped with the all-new HyperTone camera system, which was recently jointly announced by OPPO and Hasselblad. It promises a stellar photography experience with realistic portrait shots, noise reduction, increased clarity while zooming, and improved low-light performance.
