Xiaomi is currently working on two new high-end smartphones: the Xiaomi 14T and the Xiaomi 14T Pro, for the global market. The T-series phones have always been a step below the main number series and such will be the case this year too. A report from AndroidHeadlines has shed light on the specifications and features of the Xiaomi 14T series.
Xiaomi 14T Pro specifications (rumored)
Let’s start with the Pro model. The Xiaomi 14T Pro is referred to as the N12 internally. To recall, its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13T Pro, had the model number M12. The phone will largely be based on the Redmi K70 Ultra, as suggested by the HyperOS codebase, which mentions the two phones with the same codename, Rothko.
Both phones will be powered by the Dimensity 9300 chipset. That said, the Xiaomi 14T Pro will bring some premium features that its Redmi counterpart won’t. The Leica-branded camera will be exclusive to the Xiaomi 14T Pro. The Redmi K70 Ultra will replace the phone’s telephoto lens with a macro sensor. The 14T Pro will also have wireless charging, while the K70 Ultra will lack it.
While the Redmi K70 Ultra will have a China-only release, Xiaomi will bring the 14T Pro to global markets, including Japan and Europe. That said, the phone won’t be available in the Indian market.
Xiaomi 14T specifications (rumored)
The Xiaomi 14T bears the codename Degas and is internally referred to as the N12A. Like the Pro model, it will be launched in Japan and Europe but not in India. There is no information about the specifications. However, it is expected to be similar to the 14T Pro, except for some changes.
For reference, the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro have similar specifications, except for the chipset and charging capability. The Xiaomi 14T series could follow this trend. The vanilla 14T could swap the Dimensity 9300 for an 8000 series chipset. It could also miss out on wireless charging altogether.
Xiaomi will most likely launch the Redmi K70 Ultra in China in August. The Xiaomi 14T series launch could potentially follow in September.
