Renowned tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked the launch date of an upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered smartphone. According to several reports, Xiaomi could be the first brand to launch a Snapdragon 8-series flagship phone, similar to what happened last year. The latest leak by DCS suggests that Xiaomi could miss out on being the first to debut the new Snapdragon chip.
Xiaomi 15 series launch date revealed?
At least four brands are expected to launch Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered flagship phones later this month. Among them, Honor has already confirmed that it will unveil the Magic 7 series on Oct. 30 in China. The remaining brands, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and iQOO, have not yet confirmed the launch date for their respective flagships, which include the Xiaomi 15 series, OnePlus 13, and iQOO 13.
Reports have claimed that iQOO 13 will also break cover on Oct. 30. The latest leak by DCS claims that a new Snapdragon 8 Elite phone will launch on Oct. 31 in China. He added that this new generation does not have an 8 GB RAM variant. Instead, the base variant will have 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
The leaker could either be talking about the OnePlus 13 or Xiaomi 15 series. To recall, the OnePlus 12 from last year offered 12GB+256GB for the base variant, whereas the Xiaomi 14’base model offered 8GB+256GB configuration. Hence, it appears that the leaker could be talking about the Xiaomi 15 series’ launch date in the above leak.
Therefore, it appears that Xiaomi won’t launch the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Elite phone. Instead, it appears that either OnePlus or Honor may take this title.
