OnePlus is expected to unveil the Ace 5 series of affordable flagship phones later this month in China. Although the launch date remains a mystery, a new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed key details about the vanilla model. Here is a look at what to expect from the device.
OnePlus Ace 5 specifications (rumored)
The OnePlus Ace 5 reports have revealed that it will arrive with a 6.78-inch BOE X2 8T LTPO screen. It will be a micro-quad-curved screen with ultra-thin bezels.
Under the hood, the Ace 5 will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which clocks at 3.3GHz. The device will be backed by a 6,415mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. The rated value of the battery is said to be 6,285mAh.
The leak further states that the OnePlus Ace 5 has a right-angle metal middle frame and a cyan variant with a ceramic body. The device will also feature an alert slider.
Other leaks have revealed that the Ace 5 will have a 16-megapixel front-facing camera and a 50-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera unit. It is expected to ship with up to 16 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, and ColorOS 15-based Android 15.
The OnePlus Ace 5 will compete with the likes of the Redmi K80, iQOO Neo 10, and the upcoming Honor GT in the Chinese market. The Ace 5 Pro, which is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite and better cameras, will rival the Redmi K80 Pro and iQOO Neo 10 Pro.
There is no clarity on whether the Ace 5 Pro will be released in the global market. Rumors are rife that the OnePlus 13R, which is expected to launch globally in January 2025, will be a modified version of the Ace 5. The 13R is likely to pack better cameras as compared to the Ace 5.
