Xiaomi launched its first flip-style foldable phone, the Xiaomi Mix Flip, in 2023. It is speculated that its successor, the Mix Flip 2, will officially debut in the first half of this year. Today, tipster Digital Chat Station shared the key specifications of this highly anticipated device.
Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 specifications (rumored)
According to DCS, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, making it a powerful contender in the foldable phone market. A 6.85-inch LTPO primary display with a resolution of approximately 1.5K is said to be paired with a dual-curved secondary screen, offering enhanced multitasking and usability.
In terms of durability, the Mix Flip 2 is rumoured to arrive with an IPX8 water and dust resistance rating. It is also said to support wireless charging. To recall, the first-generation model lacked an IP rating and wireless charging support. It is also expected to house a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security.
On the camera front, the Mix Flip 2 may feature a dual rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor with a 1/1.5-inch size and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 1/2.76-inch sensor. However, it seems Xiaomi has decided to omit the telephoto lens, possibly to focus on a lighter and sleeker design.
As per other reports, the Mix Flip 2’s battery capacity could range between 5,600mAh and 5,700mAh, significantly larger than the 4,780mAh unit in the first-generation Mix Flip. Despite this upgrade, the device is expected to maintain a lightweight and slim profile, potentially undercutting the 7.6mm thickness and 192g weight of its predecessor.
