Huawei is said to be working on the Mate 80 series of smartphones. The lineup is expected to include multiple models, such as the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro+, and Mate 80 RS Extraordinary Master edition. A new leak claims that the Mate 80 series will be equipped with a cooling fan.

It can be said based on the Digital Chat Station’s leak that Huawei may be testing an engineering prototype of the upcoming flagship with an integrated cooling fan system. The compact high-speed fan, combined with an air duct and cooling fins, has been engineered into a miniaturized, precision-sealed structure with waterproof protection. The air outlet is placed on the side of the camera deco.

It remains unclear if this setup will make it to the final version of the Mate 80 series. The feature is apparently being tested to support better performance in areas like imaging and chipset efficiency.

One comment on the post noted that a built-in fan could significantly improve outdoor photography performance during summer, allowing the phone to sustain camera features like HDR and advanced algorithms for a longer time without overheating.

According to reports, the entire Mate 80 series is likely to feature the Kirin 9030 chipset. It is speculated that the top models in the series could be equipped with a SmartSens SC595XS, a 50-megapixel mobile CMOS image sensor with a 1/1.28-inch sensor size. The series is also said to be equipped with a flat display integrated with a 3D face recognition sensor and a side-facing fingerprint sensor.
