Last week, Vivo confirmed that it will soon announce the Vivo Y500 in China. This means that the brand has decided to skip the Y400 branding, as the number “4” is considered a bad omen in some Asian countries, including China. Therefore, the Y500 will succeed the Vivo Y300, which debuted in December 2024 in the home market. Today, the brand released an official confirmation that the Vivo Y500 will debut on Sept. 1 in the country.
