Xiaomi 16 Pro tipped to feature a 6.8-inch flat display

Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Xiaomi 16 series in the coming month. According to a recent leak from tipster Digital Chat Station, the lineup will feature three models: the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro and a new variant that is tentatively referred to as the 16 Pro Mini. While there have been rumours of a Xiaomi 16 Pro Max, reports suggest that such a device may not exist and could in fact be the same model that is anticipated to launch as the Xiaomi 16 Pro. Adding to the leaks, tipster Smart Pikachu has shared fresh details about the display of the upcoming device, highlighting the changes that will set it apart from last year’s Xiaomi 15 Pro.

Xiaomi 16 Pro display size tipped

To recall, the Xiaomi 15 Pro features a 6.73-inch OLED panel with a micro-quad-curved design. The above leak reveals that the large flagship in the upcoming Xiaomi 16 series, which appears to be the Xiaomi 16 Pro, will have a 6.8-inch flat design.

He added that to ensure the visual experience is not inferior to the previous curved screen design, the Xiaomi 16 Pro’s display adopts an ultra-narrow bezel structure. The screen also comes with new eye-protection technology, offering both high brightness and softness.

The device will retain a native triple-camera setup with external sensors, which is being hyped as capable of outperforming the iPhone. Recent reports have revealed that its camera setup will include a 50-megapixel SmartSens 590 sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, which could be the Samsung GN8 sensor.

The Xiaomi 16 series is expected to run on HyperOS 3-based Android 16. It may house a 7,500mAh battery with 100W wired charging. The device is also expected to support 50W wireless charging.
