Last year, Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi 15 series in October. The rumor mill has been speculating that the Xiaomi 16 series may debut around a month earlier than its predecessor. Today, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station shared a Weibo post hinting at the possible launch date of the Xiaomi 16 series.

According to the tipster, September will see many brands begin teasing their upcoming devices. MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 launch event is set for Sept. 22, followed by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 launch on Sept. 23.
The first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is expected to debut between Sept. 24 and Sept. 26. This has led to speculation that the Xiaomi 16 series could launch during this window. In fact, the comments section of the Weibo post is filled with users suggesting that the launch will likely take place on a Thursday, which points to a possible debut on Sept. 25.
According to reports, the Xiaomi 16 series may include three models: the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, and the tentatively named Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini. The 16 Pro is expected to feature a 6.8-inch display, while both the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro Mini are said to come with 6.3-inch screens.
In October, the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro, powered by the Dimensity 9500, are expected to debut in the Chinese market. These will likely be followed by the Find X9 and X9 Pro, which are also said to feature the Dimensity 9500. October is further expected to bring several other major flagship launches, including the Honor Magic 8 series, iQOO 15, OnePlus 15, Realme GT 8 series, and Redmi K90 series.
