Galaxy S26 Ultra may finally arrive with faster charging capabilities

After the Galaxy Note 7 debacle back in 2016, Samsung has been very careful in maintaining safety standards when it comes to battery and charging on its smartphones. This could be the reason why, while competing Android brands have launched phones with significantly increased battery sizes and charging capabilities, Samsung hasn’t made any significant strides in these departments. New developments suggest that the S26 Ultra may arrive with a significant improvement in the charging department.

Reports have revealed that the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s battery size will remain the same as its previous generation, meaning it is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery. However, a new certification suggests that the S26 Ultra may charge at 60W speed.

As can be seen above, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which bears the SM-S948B model number, has been certified by China’s 3C authority. The listing reveals that it will support 60W fast charging.

This aligns with another development where Samsung has listed a new 60W power brick on its official website. This new charger seems to be designed to support 60W charging speed on an upcoming phone, which appears to be the S26 Ultra.

Apart from 60W wired charging, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is also expected to support wireless and reverse wireless charging. Coming back to the S26 Ultra’s 3C certification, the listing also reveals that it will support satellite connectivity. However, this feature seems to be limited exclusively to the Chinese variant of the device.

As far as the launch is concerned, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to launch with the S26 and S26 Plus towards the end of February 2026.
