Xiaomi has finally confirmed the launch date for its premium flagship the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Scheduled to be held on Dec. 25, this event is only for China, where the phone will debut soon. Reports suggest that the company plans a dedicated launch event for the global market to announce the 17 Ultra along with Xiaomi 17 in March 2026. Apart from confirming the launch date, the new poster released by the brand also reveals the new design changes.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra design revealed

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra sports a centred large circular camera module with Leica branding placed right in the middle. It keeps the signature Ultra inscription on the upper left side of the back panel.
Available in classic black and white shades, the phone adopts a flat screen with generously rounded corners for a modern appearance. Volume controls shift to two distinct round buttons, and the overall camera protrusion appears reduced for a sleeker profile.
Photography remains the core strength, featuring a triple rear setup co-engineered with Leica. The main sensor is a large 1-inch 50-megapixel unit from Omnivision, paired with a groundbreaking 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens for exceptional zoom and macro capabilities.
An additional 50-megapixel ultra-wide completes the array, promising major leaps in night shots and long-range clarity. Up front, a sharp 50-megapixel selfie camera handles detailed self-portraits and video calls.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It pairs with a substantial battery 6,800mAh battery, supporting fast wired charging over 100W along with 80W wireless option. It is expected to feature a massive 6.9-inch 2K LTPO OLED screen with a flat design.
Xiaomi is launching early to let users enjoy superior holiday photography during the upcoming Chinese Spring Festival. However, due to surging component costs, expect a price hike with the base model starting around 6,999 Yuan ($999).
