In September and October, multiple Chinese smartphone brands are expected to unveil new flagship phones this year. Last year, OnePlus introduced the OnePlus 15, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, in October. Therefore, the brand is expected to unveil the OnePlus 16 around the same time this year. A new leak, courtesy of OnePlus Club, has revealed that it will house a significantly bigger battery than the OnePlus 15.
OnePlus 16 battery size tipped

The new leak claims that the OnePlus 16 will feature a massive 9,000mAh battery. While this is a very large battery, the brand is already offering a 9,000mAh unit on the Turbo 6 series, which debuted earlier this month in China.
The rumor mill has also been leaking details about the other specifications of the phone. It is speculated that its rear camera setup may include a 200-megapixel main camera, paired with two 50-megapixel sensors for ultra-wide and periscope telephoto cameras.
The OnePlus 16 is also expected to feature a 200Hz ultra-high refresh rate display with a flat design. Under the hood, it could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chipset.
Some reports suggest that apart from the OnePlus 16, there could be a more powerful model called the OnePlus 16 Pro or Ultra. At present, the brand is said to be working on the OnePlus 15T for the Chinese market, which may debut in March in China. The device was earlier expected to be rebranded as the OnePlus 15s in India, but it is now reportedly cancelled.
