Oppo’s next Ultra flagship appears to be entering an advanced testing phase, as new images of the Find X9 Ultra have surfaced on Chinese social media platforms. The phone is seen being used outdoors with an external camera accessory attached, indicating that Oppo is focusing heavily on real-world imaging performance ahead of its official unveiling, which is expected around March in China.

What stands out in the live shots is a redesigned optical teleconverter that looks noticeably larger than the one offered with the Find X9 Pro. While the Pro model supports a 3.28x teleconverter, the accessory seen with the Find X9 Ultra is said to deliver 4.28x optical magnification, resulting in an effective focal length of 300mm. This points to Oppo pushing smartphone photography closer to dedicated long-range camera gear.
The teleconverter is expected to work alongside a dual periscope camera system. Leaks suggest the phone will include a 200-megapixel OmniVision OV52A periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. With the external teleconverter attached, the long-range shooting capabilities could surpass anything currently available in the smartphone space.
The camera setup will also include a second 50-megapixel periscope camera capable of 10x optical zoom, a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 ultra-wide lens, a 200-megapixel Sony LYT-901 main camera, and a dedicated multispectral sensor for improved color accuracy. For selfies, it will feature a 50-megapixel autofocus-enabled front camera.
Other reported specifications include a 6.82-inch 2K AMOLED flat display, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, ColorOS 16, full-level dust and water resistance, and a battery exceeding 7,000mAh with fast wired and wireless charging. Oppo is expected to formally introduce the Find X9 Ultra in China first, followed by a wider rollout.
