Last year, Redmi unveiled the Redmi K80 Ultra and Redmi K Pad in June. It appears that the company is now working on the successor editions of these devices. A recent Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the Redmi K Pad 2’s key specifications and launch timeframe.
Redmi K Pad 2 specifications (rumored)
The leak reveals that the Redmi K Pad 2 will arrive with an 8.8-inch LCD panel delivering a 3K resolution and a high refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will feature a flagship-grade chipset. The tipster also revealed that the device will be equipped with a massive 9,000mAh battery, despite having a compact form factor.
In comparison, the original Redmi K Pad featured the same 8.8-inch LCD 3K 165Hz display but packed a smaller 7,500mAh battery. Like the previous generation, the K Pad 2 will be powered by a flagship-class chip, but the name of the chipset has not been revealed. It is also said to arrive with other specifications, such as dual X-axis motors and enhanced symmetrical dual speakers with co-tuned audio.
Redmi K Pad 2 launch timeframe (rumored)
The tipster has claimed that the Redmi K Pad 2 will be announced alongside the brand’s new performance-focused flagship phone, which seems to be the Redmi K90 Ultra, within the first half of this year. In all likelihood, both devices may debut together in May or June in China.
The Redmi K90 Ultra may remain exclusive to China, while its tweaked version may debut under the Xiaomi 17T Pro branding.
