Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to launch the Xiaomi 18 series in September this year. Reports have revealed that the standard Xiaomi 18 may receive a couple of new upgrades, such as a slightly bigger display and a new periscope camera. Well before the official announcement, a Chinese tech blogger has released a render to showcase the Xiaomi 18’s design.
Xiaomi 18 render leaked

Readers should note that there is no clarity on whether the above-shown render represents the Xiaomi 18’s final design. Therefore, it is advisable to take the report with a pinch of salt.
The very look of the above image suggests that the Xiaomi 18 has an iPhone-like camera module. However, it looks different from the camera module available on the entire iPhone 17 series. In fact, it is more like the Reno 15 series, with three cameras placed in a triangular design, an LED flash at the top, and Leica branding below.
Xiaomi 18 specifications: What’s known so far?
The Xiaomi 18 is speculated to feature a 6.4-inch OLED panel, which is slightly bigger than the Xiaomi 17 with a 6.3-inch screen. For photography, it is expected to feature a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 18 is said to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. With the increase in display size, it is likely that the device may also pack a larger battery than the Xiaomi 17’s 7,000mAh unit.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to feature a secondary rear display, which means their rear design may not be very different from the previous generation. It remains to be seen whether the Xiaomi 18 Ultra features a large camera module like previous generations or a completely new rear design.
