Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max in September 2025 in China. In December, the brand introduced the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and now it appears to be preparing to launch another Xiaomi 17-series smartphone. While the official name has not been confirmed yet, the upcoming device is expected to debut as the Xiaomi 17 Max. A new leak has now reiterated its key specifications and revealed its expected launch timeframe.
Xiaomi 17 Max launch timeline, key specifications tipped
According to the tipster, the Xiaomi 17 Max will be unveiled by late May. Among the Xiaomi 17 series models, the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are available globally, while the Pro variants have remained exclusive to China. Therefore, it is currently unclear whether the Xiaomi 17 Max will launch outside China.
The tipster further revealed that the Xiaomi 17 Max will feature a massive 6.9-inch AMOLED display that supports a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset along with a huge 8,000mAh battery.
The Xiaomi 17 Max is also expected to support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Its rear camera setup may include a Samsung HPE 200-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
The device is further expected to feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, symmetrical dual speakers, and advanced water and dust resistance. The leak also claims that the device could initially arrive in black and white color options.
