In July, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) had certified a POCO phone with M2007J20CG model number. The handset was recently certified by the TKDN authority of Indonesia. Speculations are rife that it could be the alleged POCO X3. The M2007J20CG phone has now received approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC documents have revealed some information on the design of the device.
First spotted by Abhishek Yadav, the M2007J20CG phone has an interesting rear design. The phone has a round-shaped camera module on its back. A large vertical strip with textured pattern can be running across the rear. The phone runs on MIUI 12 and it supports dual-band Wi-Fi.
Another tipster has shared screenshots of the TUV Rheinland certification of the phone’s battery. It has been found that the phone features a rated battery of 5,060mAh battery. Its typical size is 5,160mAh and the phone will arrive with support for 33W fast charging. The model number of the charger is MDY-12-EA. The FCC certification also further confirms that the M2007J20CG that it is a POCO branded phone. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether the phone will debut with POCO X3 moniker or some other name.
Tipster Yadav had spotted a tweet by a Xiaomi executive recently that revealed that the alleged successor of the POCO X2 will sport a 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED display. The tweet was deleted and replaced by a new tweet that revealed that the next POCO phone will support a high refresh rate.
Now that the M2007J20CG phone has bagged certification from the FCC authority, it is likely to go official soon. Since the handset has received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards, India could be one of the markets that will receive it. Hence, the company is expected to soon start teasing on its features. Hopefully, more details on the device will appear in the coming days.
