Xiaomi is expected to announce the Xiaomi 13 series of smartphones by the end of this month in China. It appears that the company is also preparing the Redmi K60 lineup for the home market. In a new Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station has seemingly claimed that the Redmi is working on at least two Dimensity 8200 chipset phones. He has tipped off the key specifications of one of the smartphones.
To recall, Redmi unveiled the Redmi K50 with the Dimensity 8100 chip onboard in February this year. Later, the brand also announced the Redmi Note 11T Pro and Note 11T Pro+, powered by the Dimensity 8100 chipset. It appears that the successor editions of these smartphones will be powered by the Dimensity 8200 chipset. Hence, the Redmi K60 and the Redmi Note 12T series arriving in a couple of months could feature the D8200 SoC.
According to the tipster, one of the Redmi phones featuring the Dimensity 8200 has a flat display with a punch-hole design. It will come equipped with an OIS-assisted 48-megapixel camera.
The device will be backed by a 5,500mAh battery. One of his previous Weibo posts suggests that the device will support 67W fast charging. The tipster seems to have shared the key specifications of the Redmi K60. At present, there is no information on the launch timeframe for the device. It will probably debut in Q1 2023.
The Dimensity 8200 chipset hasn’t gone official yet. On Nov. 8, MediaTek will unveil the Dimensity 9200 flagship chipset. The Taiwanese chipmaker might also announce the D8200 chip at the same time as the D9200.
