Last week, we first learned that the Android 4.4 update has hit the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phablet in Russia. Today, it seems like more countries has begun receiving the KitKat update as well. These counties include India, Singapore, Switzeland, Poland, Netherland, Hungary, Korea, Latvia and Ireland. We’re pretty sure for countries will soon be joining the list in the next few weeks, so be sure to check your phone regularly.
The Android 4.4 update will come in the form of OTA update and will being several new features to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3:
- Music album art shows on the lock-screen while music is playing
- A camera shortcut is now displayed on the lock-screen
- New emojis support
- Select between the stock messaging app or Hangouts for SMS and MMS
- Select between TouchWiz or other launchers through settings
- Wireless printing
- Updated Google apps
- Updated Galaxy Gear Manager brings improved connectivity and better email options
Since this update has a massive 380 MB file size, it is recommended that you’re connected to Wi-Fi before downloading the update so that you will not exceed your data usage.
