Android 8.0 Oreo was officially announced on Aug. 21 and soon after its debut Blackberry confirmed that it would be releasing the Android update to BlackBerry KeyOne. Now another retailer, HTC has confirmed the names of the smartphone that will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo.
HTC USA has confirmed that it will be releasing the Android 8.0 Oreo update would be releasing to HTC U11, HTC U Ultra and HTC 10 across the world. However, there is no confirmation on when these devices would be upgraded to Android Oreo. The tweet also states that more information on additional HTC devices that will be upgraded to Android Oreo will be announced soon.
The HTC U11 is the 2017 flagship phone from the company and the HTC U Ultra is the Snapdragon 821 powered smartphone with premium appeal and the HTC 10 is the 2016 flagship phone from the company. All the three smartphones are currently running on Android Nougat. Also, HTC’s president of smartphones and connected devices, Chailin Chang had confirmed earlier this year that HTC U 11 would be also getting Android P in 2018. The Taiwanese comapny is also rumored to be working on a cheaper edition of HTC U11 before the end of this year.
