Anyone out here interested in buying Pantech? And nope we don’t mean its product, we mean the whole company!
Apparently, the Korean company has put up itself for sale after suffering a 6 consecutive quarterly loss during the past 2 years. Right now, we understand that there are quite a number of companies interested in taking over Pantech which is also the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the country. These companies include Samsung, LG as well as overseas companies including Lenovo and Micromax which obviously want to take this opportunity to penetrate into the Korean market.
Whatever it is, they have until 7th October to decide whether they want to place their bid or not.
