Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 16 series in September of this year. Since the launch is several months away, the rumor mill is gradually revealing details about the next-generation lineup, which is expected to include the iPhone 16, the iPhone 16 Plus, the iPhone 16 Pro, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. A new leak, courtesy of leaker Majin Bu on X, has revealed the battery sizes of the upcoming iPhones.
The iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max have a 3,349mAh, 3,279mAh, 4,383mAh, and 4,441mAh battery, respectively. The new leak claims that the iPhone 16’s battery size will increase to 3,561mAh. The iPhone 16 Plus will have a 4,006mAh battery, whereas the Pro Max variant will have a larger 4,676mAh battery.
Apple’s iPhones have an L-shaped battery inside. However, the new leak states that the iPhone 16 series will not have such a battery thanks to the redesigned internal structure. The leak does not have any information about the battery of the iPhone 16 Pro.
In related news, recent reports have revealed that the upcoming iPhone 16 series will not have overhauled design improvements, indicating that its overall appearance could be similar to that of the iPhone 15 series. It is being said that the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display, whereas the iPhone 16 Plus and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be equipped with a bigger 6.9-inch screen. The increased size of the iPhone 16 series could be the reason why it is expected to arrive with a larger battery.
Apple is known for launching its new iPhones in the month of September each year. This year, too, the brand may unveil the iPhone 16 lineup in the same month.
