After launching the iPhone 13 series smartphones a couple months back, Apple is now back to the headlines with the launch of the brand new iPhone SE (2022) that comes with a much more affordable starting price than the rest of the iPhone 13 lineup.
Despite it’s affordability, the iPhone SE (2022) nonetheless packs some pretty neat features for an all-rounded user experience, though some would also take it’s compact design as a key selling point for the phone.
Just like it’s predecessor, the new iPhone SE (2022) retains the same petite 4.7” display size which makes it one of the smallest phone in the market. It offers an effective 1334 x 750 pixels screen resolution along with 60Hz refresh for a smooth and immersive viewing experience.
To further improve it’s durability, the display is also reinforced by the same Ceramic Shield protective glass coating that was also found among the iPhone 13 series devices. On top of that, the phone also comes with IP67 rating for water and dust resistance – a feature which we don’t normally see among smartphones at this price.
Of course, the biggest upgrade for the iPhone SE (2022) is none other than the adoption of the latest Apple A15 Bionic chipset which had impressed us tremendously during our review of the iPhone 13 (Review) and iPhone 13 Pro (Review). Likewise, there’s also three storage options to pick from namely 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
Moving on to the imaging side of things, the iPhone SE (2022) is equipped with a single 12 megapixels (f/1.8 aperture) camera that comes along with new features such as Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, Deep Fusion, and Portrait mode. This will be rounded out by a 7 megapixels front-facing camera for selfie and video calling purposes.
The iPhone SE (2022) is available in a trio of colors including midnight, starlight, and (PRODUCT)RED. For those who’re interested, pricing for the iPhone SE (2022) will start from just S$699 in Singapore.
In terms of availability, the iPhone SE will be up for pre-order starting March 11th, and will go on sale in the local market starting March 18th via Apple Authorised Resellers and select carriers.
