Apple fans have been eagerly waiting for the brand to unveil its first foldable phone. Reports have revealed that the company could be planning to launch its foldable phone alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September 2026. A new leak has now surfaced, revealing key details about its design, display, and cameras.
Foldable iPhone’s design revealed

According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, Apple’s foldable iPhone is expected to adopt a wide-folding design, similar in concept to Huawei’s Pura X but with a stronger focus on tablet-like usage. Instead of opening into a tall display, the phone is said to unfold into a horizontally wide screen, bringing it closer to the experience of a compact iPad.
The internal display is tipped to measure around 7.58 inches, while the outer screen could be around 5.25 inches, offering enough space for quick tasks when folded. The inner display is expected to feature an under-display front camera, resulting in a clean and uninterrupted screen.
Reports also suggest that Apple has invested heavily in hinge engineering, using a metal stress-dispersing structure and a self-healing coating to reduce visible creases and improve scratch resistance. Both displays are said to use flexible OLED panels with HDR support and ProMotion adaptive refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz.
On the camera front, the foldable iPhone is expected to feature a dual 48-megapixel camera setup on the back, supported by sensor-shift optical image stabilisation. To keep the device slim, Apple is reportedly skipping Face ID in favour of a side-mounted Touch ID sensor, similar to recent iPad models.
As per other reports, the device could be powered by Apple’s A20 series chip, paired with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage. The phone is also expected to rely entirely on eSIM, supported by Apple’s second-generation C2 modem.
