Last year, ASUS launched the ROG Phone 2 gaming phone on July 23 in China. Today, the Taiwanese company took to Weibo to confirm that the ROG Phone 3 will be arriving in the same month this year. The handset will be rivaling with the Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone that is also set to debut in July.
The official Weibo post released by the ROG Gaming Phone Weibo handle reveals that just as the ROG Phone 2 came with gaming customizations from Tencent, its successor edition will be also featuring it. The company has focused on hardware performance optimization to create a better gaming experience. The poster confirms the ROG Phone 3 moniker and July launch. The exact unveil date is yet to be revealed. Lenovo Legion gaming phone’s launch date is also under wraps.
The ROG Phone 3 has already appeared on TENAA with full specifications. It is believed that it could be one of the first phones to arrive with the enhanced Snapdragon 865+ mobile platform. Qualcomm is yet to confirm the existence of the chipset.
The ROG Phone 3 has a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The display supports Full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It may support up to 144Hz refresh rate.
The gaming phone from ASUS is expected to arrive with up to 16 GB of RAM in China. The phone may users with maximum internal storage of 512 GB. The ROG UI based Android 10 OS will be preloaded on the phone.
The rear-facing triple camera setup of the ROG Phone 3 has a 64-megapixel main camera. It has a selfie snapper of 14-megapixel. The handset is equipped with 6,000mAh capacity. It is likely to arrive with support for 30W fast charging.
