Update: Story has been updated with the official images of the ASUS ROG Phone 6 which were published on TENAA earlier today.
Recently, two upcoming ASUS smartphones with model numbers AI2201_A and AI2201_B were approved by the 3C authority of China. These devices are said to be the upcoming ROG Phone 6 series phones. The AI2201_B variant has now bagged approval from the TENAA authority of China. As usual, the listing has revealed all the major specifications of the device.
ASUS ROG Phone 6 Specifications (Rumored)
The TENAA listing reveals that the ROG Phone 6 measures 172.834 x 77.252 x 10.39mm and weighs 229 grams. It is fitted with a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel. The listing has no information on its screen resolution. Hence, it is unclear whether the phone supports FHD+ or QHD+ resolution.
What’s already known is that it will carry support for a refresh rate of 165Hz. Rumors have it that there will be some design changes on the ROG Phone 6 as compared to its predecessor model. Unfortunately, the images of the device haven’t appeared on TENAA.
According to the TENAA listing, the smartphone is powered by a 3.2GHz octa-core processor, which appears to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. The SoC is coupled with 18 GB of RAM and 512 GB of built-in storage.
The device has a dual-cell battery. The size of one of its cells is 2,925mAh, which indicates that it may offer a total capacity of 6,000mAh. The 3C certification of the device has revealed that it may carry support for 65W fast charging. The TENAA listing suggests that the device will come with a charger when it goes on sale.
The ROG Phone 6 has a 12-megapixel camera on the front. Its rear camera setup has a triple camera unit headlined by a 64-megapixel snapper. For security, it has an under-display fingerprint scanner.
It is still unclear whether the AI2201_B is the vanilla ROG Phone 6 or its Pro variant. Hence, it is advisable to wait for newer reports to know its exact identity. For those who are unaware, the ROG Phone 6 series is scheduled to launch on July 5.
