So far, brands like ASUS, Nubia (Red Magic), and Black Shark have released several hard-core gaming phones. However, none of them has featured MediaTek’s Dimensity chipset. New information reveals that ASUS is now gearing up to launch a density-powered gaming phone called the ASUS ROG Phone 6D.
A Chinese tipster has shared a screenshot from ASUS China’s website. As seen from the screenshot (below), the “ROG Phone 6D” moniker that has appeared on the official site belongs to an unannounced phone.
Likewise, a pair of new ASUS devices with model numbers ASUS_AI2203_A and ASUS_AI2203_B had also been certified by the 3C authority in China. The listings reveal that these 5G-ready phones may carry support for 65W fast charging. While there is no confirmation yet, these devices could be the ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Pro.
Tipster Digital Chat Station has shared key specifications for the ROG Phone 6D is equipped with the Dimensity 9000+ chipset instead of the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. The device will come with a 165Hz refresh rate display, a 6,000mAh battery, and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary camera on the back. The rest of the specifications of the device are under wraps.
To recall, ASUS announced the ROG Phone 6 series in various markets in July. The leaked specifications of the ROG Phone 6D suggest that it could be positioned lower than its Snapdragon variant. It seems that the ROG Phone 6D series will debut in China in September. At present, there is no information on the other markets that will be receiving the ROG Phone 6D lineup.
