Samsung and Sony have confirmed that they will be launching new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 at Barcelona, Spain. Today, ASUS has also confirmed that it will be holding a press conference at 7:30 PM CET. The Taiwanese company is most likely to debut the entire ZenFone 5 series or some of its phones at its MWC press meet.
The company has not confirmed on whether it will be livestreaming the vent. However, it has stated that CEO Jerry Chen, GM of Mobile Business Division Bryan Chang and Global Marketing Head of Systems Business Group Marcel Campos will be present at the MWC 2018 press conference on Feb. 27.
The launch invitation carries number “5” and “we love photo” tagline which indicates that the ZenFone 5 series will deliver stellar photography experience. The ZenFone 5 series could include smartphones like ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5 Max, ZenFone 5 Lite, ZenFone 5 Selfie, and more. Rumor have it that the ZenFone 5 series phones will be featuring 18:9 aspect ratio screen and they will arrive preloaded with Android 8.0 Oreo. The presence of the Qualcomm logo on the launch invitation indicates that the ZenFone 5 phones would be mostly driven by Snapdragon chipsets. The rumor mill is expected to reveal more information on the next-generation ZenFone series in the coming weeks.
