After a long wait, the Black Shark 3 series finally made it’s official debut during a live-streamed, launch event today. Needless to say, the latest iteration has been treated with load of improvements across all metrics which make it an extremely viable option for mobile e-sports.
Black Shark 3 Specifications
For starter, the Black Shark 3 sports a 6.67-inches FHD+ OLED panel which supports a 90Hz screen refresh rate and a 270Hz touch sampling rate. Similar to most other recent flagship devices, the device is also HDR10+ certified which promises an immersive graphical experience for it’s users.
At the helm, the Black Shark 3 is driven by the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC that is paired with a X55 modem which brings 5G support to the device for both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes. In the memory compartment, there will be up to 12GB worth of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage.
On the flip-side, there is a unique triangular-shaped camera module which houses a total of 3 camera sensors comprising of a 64 megapixels main shooter, a 13 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 5 megapixels depth sensor. Back to the front panel, there will also be a 20 megapixels selfie camera.
As a gaming-centric phone, we wouldn’t be surprised to see some powerful gaming features under the hood as well. This of course include the forth-generation’s liquid cooling system which ensures the device remain cool even under the most extreme gaming conditions.
This time round, the device also features a so-called shoulder buttons which could be customized for use during game plays. This will definitely provides you with a competitive edge over your opponents as it will offer you better control and ergonomic.
Last but no the least, the Black Shark 3 will be fueled by a hefty 4,720mAh battery which support up to 65W fast-charging via it’s USB-C port, or 18W through it’s dedicated magnetic charging port at the rear.
Black Shark 3 Pro Specifications
Unlike the Black Shark 3, the “Pro” variant will sport a larger 7.1-inches QHD+ OLED panel. It will however, retains the same screen refresh rate and touch sampling rate.
Under the hood, the Black Shark 3 Pro will also feature a slightly bigger battery which has a rated capacity of 5,000mAh. Other than that, the rest of the specs and features will remain the same as the vanilla model.
Pricing & Availability
The Black Shark 3 will be available in 3 different memory configurations as follow: 8GB+128GB, 12GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB. The pricing for these models are 3,499 Yuan (US$501), 3,799 Yuan (US$544), as well as 3,999 Yuan (US$573) respectively.
As for the Black Shark 3 Pro, it’s 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB models will be priced at 4,699 Yuan (US$673) and 4,999 Yuan (US$716) respectively.
In the Chinese market, the Black Shark 3 is available for pre-orders starting today, and would be up for grabs on March 6th. The Black Shark 3 Pro on the other hand, will be available starting March 10th in China.
