Chinese smartphone maker CoolPad has officially announced a new entry-level smartphone in it’s domestic market known as the CoolPad COOL 20s. Priced at just 999 Yuan ($148), the CoolPad COOL 20s is available in three different colorways such as Black, White and Blue.
The new CoolPad COOL 20s builds around a 6.58” IPS LCD display featuring a FHD+ screen resolution along with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. For selfies and video calls, the phone also features a decent 8 megapixels front-facing camera tucked into a waterdrop-notch along it’s upper bezel.
Imaging-wise, the CoolPad COOL 20s relies on a dual-cam setup on the rear side which is lead by a 50 megapixels (f/1.8 aperture) main camera and a 2 megapixels macro camera for close-up photography. To help with snapping photos under low-light environment, the phone also has a LED flash unit that sits within the same camera housing.
Under the hood, the CoolPad COOL 20s is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset which is also used in the recently announced Realme V20 5G smartphone. This will be paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage in the memory department.
Keeping it’s lights on will be a respectable 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. Other than that, the phone also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, and is shipped with CoolOS 2.0 based on Android 11 OS out of the box.
