Google is rumored to announce the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones in October this year. The Google Pixel 2 has been certified by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the FCC documents have revealed some key features of the smartphone.
The FCC documents contains multiple references of HTC which corroborates the rumors that claim that the Taiwanese company is assembling the Google Pixel 2. However, it will be advertised as “made by Google” product. Its model number is mentioned as GO11A which was also spotted when a unknown HTC handset had received Wi-Fi certification. The FCC filing shows that electronic edition of labeling system for the upcoming Google Pixel phones.
The above screenshot has mentioning of Active Edge in Settings which indicates the Edge Sense feature of the HTC U11 will be also coming to the Google Pixel 2. The pressure-sensitive metallic frame on the HTC U11 can be squeezed to launch various functions on it. On Google Pixel 2, the Active Edge will be at least used for activating Google Assistant.
The “ms9889” mentioned under Baseband in Settings indicates that the Snapdragon 835 will be powering the Google Pixel 2. The handset will be coming with Android 8.0 preinstalled. The settings page also shows that the 21 percent of internal storage space has been used and around 50 GB is left. This shows that the smartphone would be coming with 64 GB of native storage.
