Android Rumors Google Leaked News

Google Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro camera specifications leaked

Google is likely to announce the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones in October of this year. Given the historical trend, it is likely that a substantial amount of information about the Pixel 8 series will surface before its official launch, as the rumor mill has been known to leak significant details about Pixel phones in advance. With the launch just a couple of months away, it is expected that there will be a plethora of information circulating regarding the Pixel 8 series. In a new report, Android Authority has leaked the camera specifications of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

According to the report, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are said to feature rear camera modules with a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GN2 primary camera. This marks an upgrade from the previous Pixel 7 and 7 Pro models, which were equipped with a 50-megapixel Samsung GN1 camera.

The Pixel 8’s dual camera setup will include a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 ultra-wide lens. It is the same ultra-wide snapper that has been available since the Pixel 6 series. However, there is a slight upgrade, as it will offer a 0.55x zoom ratio instead of the 0.67x zoom available on the Pixel 8.

Coming to the Pixel 8 Pro’s triple camera unit, will include a new 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 ultra-wide lens and a 48-megapixel Samsung GM5 telephoto camera with 5x zoom. As far as the selfie camera is concerned, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will have the same 11-megapixel Samsung 3J1 front camera that was made available on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. For a better autofocus experience, the Pixel 8 will have an STMicroelectronics VL53L1 ToF sensor, whereas the Pixel 8 Pro will be equipped with a new 8×8 ToF VL53L8 sensor.
