In September, Google announced the Pixel 9 series of smartphones along with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold foldable phone. The search engine giant is also reportedly developing the Pixel 9a, a mid-range Pixel phone. So far, the rumor mill has been leaking key details about the 9a in bits and pieces. Now, a new report by AndroidHeadlines has emerged to reveal almost everything about the device.
Google Pixel 9a specifications (rumored)
According to the report, the Google Pixel 9a will feature a 6.3-inch OLED panel like the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro. Apart from FHD+ resolution, the screen will support a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the Pixel 9a will feature the Tensor G4 chipset, like the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro. The mid-range phone is expected to ship with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB of storage. The device is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery. While the battery size will increase as compared to the previous generation, the 9a will continue to support 18W wired and 7.5W wireless charging.
The Pixel 9a will arrive with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. The back panel of the device will feature a 48-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel dual-camera setup. While the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro came preloaded with Android 14, the 9a is expected to come preinstalled with the latest Android 15.
The report further revealed that the Pixel 9a will measure 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9mm and weigh 186 grams. As far as the launch date is concerned, the report claims that the Pixel 9a will be announced in March 2025. In terms of pricing, the device is expected to arrive with a starting price of $499.
