After announcing the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones, Google also unveiled the Pixel Slate 2-in-1 device that can function as a laptop when connected with a detachable keyboard and it can be used as a tablet without the keyboard. The Pixelbook Pen that was introduced last year also work with Pixel Slate.
The Pixel Slate is fitted with a 12.3-inch LTPS LCD screen that produces 3000 x 2000 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3:2. The screen is protected by 2.5D curved glass. The Midnight Blue colored device is made out of anodized aluminum that has a thickness of 7mm.
The device is equipped with two stereo speakers at the front. It has a wide-angle 8-megapixel front camera and a rear shooter of 8-megapixel. The refined Chrome OS that brings better desktop experience is available on the device. The power button of the tablet is embedded with a fingerprint scanner.
The Google Pixel Slate has a starting price of $599 for the base model that features Intel Celeron chip, 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of SSD storage. The highest variant has Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD storage. It carries a price tag of $1,599. Apart from these models, there are Intel Core m3 and Core i3 editions of the Pixel Slate. The device will be available for purchase later this year in markets like the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
