Back in mid-2019, Xiaomi announced the Redmi K20 series smartphones in the Chinese market consisting of the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. However, new information and images surfaced in China revealed that there’s actually an unreleased model dubbed as the Redmi K20S which was supposed to be launch in the global market under the POCO F2 branding.
As seen in the images, the unannounced POCO F2 did share a close resemblance to the Redmi K20 in terms of it’s rear design, especially with the vertically-stacked camera array. There are however, some minor changes that include the placement of it’s LED flash and the present of a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Over on the frontside of the phone, it’s obvious that the POCO F2 ditches the pop-up selfie camera (on the Redmi K20) for a hole-punch camera instead.
While there isn’t much concrete information pertaining to this device, but the source actually claimed that the phone was expected to be powered the same Snapdragon 855 chipset that was used in the Redmi K20 Pro.
