Honor will be unveiling the new generation’s Honor 50 series smartphones on June 16th next week. Based on earlier reports, the company is expected to launch at least three models including the Honor 50, Honor 50 Pro, as well as the Honor 50 SE.
With just days away from it’s official launch, more information pertaining to the devices had poured out, revealing pretty much everything we need to know about these devices.
Honor 50 Pro
Starting with the higher-end Honor 50 Pro, the device is expected to rock a 6.72” OLED display upfront that’s likely to feature a FHD+ screen resolution accompanied by a high refresh rate.
Just like last year’s Honor 30 Pro, it will retain the familiar pill-shape cutout on the upper-left corner of the screen which houses a 32 megapixels main camera which will be assisted by a 12 megapixels helper.
For photography, the phone is said to arrive with a quad-camera system lead by a 108 megapixels main camera. As for the other three cameras, they include an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens and a pair of 2 megapixels auxiliary cameras.
Under the hood, the Honor 50 Pro is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 778G chipset which is expected to be paired with at least 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department. The device will be fitted with a respectable 4,000mAh battery which carries support for an ultra-fast 100W charging support that’s capable of delivering a full charge in around 25 minutes.
On the software front, the phone will be shipped with Magic UI 4.2 out of the box.
Honor 50
Coming to the vanilla Honor 50, this device sits between the Honor 50 SE and Honor 50 Pro in terms of specs. Still, you can expect the upcoming Honor 50 to share a largely similar specs as the Honor 50 Pro.
Unlike the Honor 50 Pro which gets a 6.72” OLED display, the vanilla model settles for a slightly smaller 6.57” OLED display instead. Similarly, it will be coming with a single 32 megapixels selfie camera instead of a dual-camera system upfront.
At the back of the phone however, it retains the same 108 megapixels quad-camera system as the “Pro” model and keeps the same Snapdragon 778G chipset under the hood. Compared to the Honor 50 Pro, it has a slightly larger 4,300mAh battery but features a toned-down 66W fast-charging support.
Honor 50 SE
Last but not the least, we also have the Honor 50 SE that features a 6.78” LCD display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution alongside a 16 megapixels selfie camera.
In the camera department, it gets a watered-down triple camera system that include a 100 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 2 megapixels macro camera.
At the helm, the Honor 50 SE is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset which is likely to be available with at least 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage.
To keep it’s lights on, the Honor 50 SE draws power from a 4,000mAh battery with 66W fast-charging support. Just like the rest of the Honor 50 series smartphones, it’ll be shipped with MagicUI 4.2 out of the box.
