Honor 7X To Receive Android Oreo Based EMUI 8.0 In May

Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, released one of its best mid-range smartphones early this year through its Honor sub-brand. Dubbed Honor 7X, this smartphone comes with interesting features considering its $250 price tag but one major setback was its Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1 operating system. However, the company promised that it will release the latest Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 update to this smartphone in the second quarter of this year and it appears that it is keeping to its promise. According to Chinese sources, the EMUI update for the Honor 7X will be released in May. This was confirmed by Honor officials. All users will not get this update at the same time. Those who registered for the beta program and an additional 20,000  users will participate in the first release of the stable build OTA.

As we already know, EMUI 8.0 is based on Android 8.0 depth customization thus it comes Android Oreo improvements and other customized improvements. One important feature of this update is that it is equipped with an AI intelligence engine which makes it predict user behaviour and intelligent resource allocation. Memory defragmentation and background memory compression are some other advanced improvements that come with this update. As is expected from all Android 8.0 based systems, the EMIUI 8.0 extends the battery life of the smartphone in Doze mode. Users no longer have to uninstall programs or change usage habit to minimize the power consumption of background apps.
