Honor has unwrapped a new entry-level smartphone known as the Honor 8S 2020 in UK. As suggested by its moniker, this device is largely based on last year’s Honor 8S and has no visible change in terms of its exterior design as well as its key specs.
The only difference between them is that the new Honor 8S 2020 will come with a beefed up 3GB+64GB memory configuration in contrast to last year’s 2GB+32GB setup.
As such, the Honor 8S 2020 will continue to sport a 5.71-inches HD+ LCD diaplay which has a dewdrop-notch at the top for its 5 megapixels selfie camera. The device also has a pretty huge chin at the bottom which carries the “HONOR” branding.
Over on its rear, the device feature a single 13 megapixels camera which will be assisted by a LED flash located directly below it. Its rear panel is currently available only in the Navy Blue color option.
Under the hood, the Honor 8S 2020 will be driven by a budget MediaTek Helio A22 SoC which has four CPU cores paired with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It has a decent 3,020mAh battery at the helm which is good enough for normal usages.
Unlike most of the recently announced Honor smartphones, the Honor 8S 2020 will be shipped with an older EMUI 9 based on Android Pie. However, this is one of the few Honor devices which currently has Google Mobile Services (GMS) onboard.
