All the major smartphone brands in China are working on their flagship smartphone series. Xiaomi, Vivo, OnePlus, and iQOO are some of the brands that are expected to announce their flagship phones before the end of this year. Honor, which has gained a considerable market share in the Chinese market, is also said to be working on the Honor Magic 6 series of flagship phones. Today, tipster Digital Chat Station shared key details about the design of the Magic 6 series.
As per information from DCS, the engineering prototype of the Honor Magic 6 Pro features a pill-shaped cutout positioned at the top-centre of the screen. This design choice allows the device to retain support for 3D face recognition technology. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that the device will run on Magic OS 8.0, which has been specifically tailored to accommodate and optimize the use of the pill-shaped display cutout.
To recall, the Honor Magic 5 Pro also had a pill-shaped punch-hole on the screen, but it was situated in the upper left corner and supported 3D face recognition. There is a possibility that Magic OS 8.0 may offer a notification feature similar to the Dynamic Island available on iPhones or the new Live Window feature in Huawei’s Harmony OS 4.0. The Live Window function enables users to monitor task progress in real-time. It offers interactive capabilities and enhances efficiency across various devices.
There is no word on the other specifications of the Honor Magic 6 Pro. Considering that the Honor Magic 5 Pro featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, it is safe to assume that the Magic 6 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Magic 6 series, which is expected to include a vanilla and Ultimate model, is expected to debut in the first quarter of 2024 in China.
