Honor is all set to unveil it’s first foldable smartphone – Honor Magic V – on January 10th next week. Much details pertaining to the device had already emerged over the past couple of days, giving us a good idea on what to expect from the upcoming phone.
Now, even the official renders and of the Honor Magic V have also made their way to the web, showing off the entire design of the phone. As seen from the renders, the upcoming Magic V foldable will feature an inward-folding design like what we saw on the Huawei Mate X2 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3.
It’s obvious from the renders that the Honor Magic V’s cover display adopts a centered punch-hole display to accommodate it’s purported 42 megapixels selfie camera. It will reportedly be a 6.45” OLED display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution with 120Hz refresh rate.
In the unfolded state, the Honor Magic V is able to deliver a tablet-like experience with a 7.9” OLED display that supports 2,272 × 1,984 pixels screen resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. That means the device would be featuring a slightly larger (inner) display than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 which settles with a 7.6” display.
On the rear side, it sports a rectangular-shaped camera bump which has three cameras in it. These cameras are said to include a 50 megapixels main camera, 50 megapixels ultra-wide unit, as well as a 50MP spectrum enhanced camera.
Under the hood, the Honor Magic V will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB built-in storage. Likewise, it’s also said to be backed by a 4,750mAh battery with 66W fast-charging support.
In terms of software, we can expect the phone to be shipped with the new Magic UI 6.0 based on Android 12 OS. Pricing-wise, it’s likely to be priced at 13,999 Yuan ($2,196) and 14,999 Yuan ($2,353) respectively for it’s 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB variants in the Chinese market.
