Besides unveiling the highly anticipated Honor 20S smartphone today, Honor had also introduced the entry-level Honor Play 3.
Although the Honor Play 3 is essentially a budget smartphone with modest specs, but it do features some impressive internals including a 48 megapixels main snapper and a hefty 4,000mAh battery which it apart from other entry-level smartphones in the market.
Honor Play 3 Specifications
To start off, the Honor Play 3 comes with a 6.39-inch IPS LCD with 720 x 1,560 pixels screen resolution and an overall 90% screen-to-body ratio. It’s front panel adopts a hole-punched design with tiny bezels along it’s four sides.
Under the hood, the device in driven by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 710F SoC alongside 4GB/ 6GB of RAM and 64GB/ 128GB onboard storage space which is further expandable with the use of microSD card.
Moving on to it’s camera, the device has a triple-camera setup on it’s rear chassis which comprises of a 48 megapixels main snapper, an 8 megapixels ultra wide lens, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor. It’s selfie camera housed within the hole-punched compartment carries an 8 megapixels sensor as well.
As mentioned earlier, the Honor Play 3 is fueled by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery which supports 10W charging which will bring the device from 0 to 100% in 2.5 hours. Software-wise, the device is loaded with EMUI 9.1.1 based upon the Android Pie OS.

Pricing for the Honor Play 3 is as follows:
- 4GB+64GB : 999 Yuan (US$140)
- 4GB+128GB : 1,299 Yuan (US$182)
- 6GB+64GB : 1,299 Yuan (US$182)
According to Honor, the device will go on sale starting September 17th in China. As of now, there is still no news on when the device will be available to the global market.
