Besides launching the Honor 30X smartphone, Honor has also announced a more affordable model known as the Honor Play 30 which carries an affordable launch price of just 1,099 Yuan (US$173).
For starter, the Honor Play 30 Plus builds around a 6.74” IPS LCD display that comes along with a rather decent HD+ screen resolution and smooth 90Hz refresh rate. Other than that, there’s also a 5 megapixels front-facing camera to help with selfie and video calls.
On the rear side, it features a dual-ring design for it’s camera housing which seems to be heavily inspired by the Huawei P50 series devices. However, there will only be two rear cameras including a 13 megapixels main camera and a 2 megapixels depth sensor.
Unlike the Honor X30 that’s powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, the Honor Play 30 Plus opted for a toned-down Dimensity 700 chipset instead. This will be paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department.
To keep it’s lights on, the Honor Play 30 Plus is backed by a 5,000mAh battery which carries support for 22.5W fast-charging. As usual, it’ll be shipped with Magic UI 5.0 based on Android 11 out of the box.
Those who’re interested can pick the phone in four different colorways including Black, Silver, Gold and Blue. In the Chinese market, the Honor Play 30 Plus is offered in both 4GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB variants that are priced at 1,099 Yuan (US$173) and 1,499 Yuan (US$235) respectively.
